200 Years of Patient Care: Celebrating & Conveying the Legacy of Massachusetts General Hospital

Commemorating 200 years as an institution is an extraordinary experience. Commemorating a second bicentennial 10 years later shows just how unique the history of Massachusetts General Hospital is among health care institutions. Staff from the hospital’s Russell Museum and News and Public Affairs Office will describe and discuss the year-long planning process that went into commemorating the 200th anniversary of the first patient admission to the hospital -- some 10 years after the MGH was incorporated as a general hospital -- culminating in a seminal event, an interactive tour and several publications and collateral.
